newsletter 01-2013

Dear Friends of the ESG,

“Here we have no continuing city, but we seek one.” With the annual slogan on the year 2013 I greet you all with affection and wish you a blessed new year.

The beginning of the year is in the ESG ambivalent: On the one hand twelve new months start with medium- and long-term challenges: privately, in studies, ecclesiastically and politically. On the other hand, we are in the second week of January and before the beginning of the end of the winter semester. Groups, Circles, Choirs turn so slowly to the finish line. Little earlier than usual, the ESG have his great choir concert, and the reason, because it is at the “Schnur Christi” is a play about the Heidelberg Catechism, a preface now once 19. January 1563 was signed by the elector. On Sunday, 20. January, will be a concert at St. Peter's, 19.00 Clock.

Little quieter still reigns this week. The talk on Wednesday about “Religion in Japan” need to be canceled. So it is for the devotion to 19.00 Clock give a dinner and an open community dinner. Ample time, to relive some – about, how noble we are having a three-course meal here at the end of the world on ESG 21. December have ignored sovereign.

Next Sunday is the Cantata No.. 5 the Christmas Oratorio performed in university service. Also help warm invitation.

Warmly greets Hans-Georg Ulrichs.
